New Zealand’s unique geothermal geography, rivers and rapids make a great adventure playground.

DAY 1 – ARRIVAL AUCKLAND

Depending on your preferred travel choice, you will either be met and privately transferred, or self drive to your accommodation.

Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city, set between two harbours with gentle sandy shores on the east coast and black sand, wild surf beaches on the west coast. Home to sheltered, sparkling blue waters dotted with beautiful emerald islands, we recommend getting out on the water when you are here.

DAY 2 – AUCKLAND – ROTORUA

Travel to Rotorua, a bubbling and steaming destination like no where else.  You may choose to travel via the Waitomo region where the rolling green hills sit above a labyrinth of underground caves providing all kinds of exciting adventures.   

Auckland-Rotorua: 235km (approx. 3hrs)

DAY 3 – ROTORUA

Rotorua is surrounded by a fascinating geothermal landscape with its unique steam vents, spouting geysers and bubbling mud pool set alongside freshwater lakes and majestic native forests. It is also a region immersed in fascinating Maori myths and legends.

Today you’ll make a visit to Waimangu Geothermal Valley and experience spectacular volcanic craters, enormous hot water springs and beautiful geothermal features.  Then climb high above the spectacular Redwoods forest for an “Indiana Jones” style adventure over jungle bridges and across flying foxes.

DAY 4 – ROTORUA – AUCKLAND

Choose to spend the morning further exploring around the lakes and forests of Rotorua or depart for Auckland to spend the afternoon in the city or out on the harbour.

Rotorua – Auckland: 228km (approx 3hrs)

DAY 5 – DEPART AUCKLAND

Arrangements conclude today with a departure transfer or return of your rental car.
