Lanka.

At Culinary Ceylon, they believe that when one visits another country, the best way
to connect to its history, culture and people is through its local cuisine. Srilankan cuisine is currently trending worldwide! It combines flavours from around the globe and yet, has a taste that is all its own. With influences from Malaysia, Indonesia, Southern India, North Africa, Portugal, England and the Netherlands, it’s a mixed bag of flavours and an explosion of colour, which remains a constant reminder of our colonial past. But you would be mistaken for thinking it cannot be defined as its own. It’s heavily influenced by its geography, sitting in the Indian Ocean between east and west, meaning we are big on seafood. And the tropical climes also account for our plethora of coconuts. Curries and rice are staples, and are often eaten with roti style bread, while chilies, curry leaves, onions, cinnamon and garlic also feature heavily.
Start exploring authentic local cuisine at Culinary Ceylon, prepared in a ‘homecooked’ style using family recipes passed down from their proprietor’s ancestors.
Immerse yourself in the local culture by ‘breaking bread’ with a local; their guided, curated experience distinguishes them from an ordinary restaurant visit. Listen to your curator as they carefully explain the origin of each dish and share the best of their knowledge and stories of the food you will enjoy.
